Summary
This Preliminary information communicates to the dealer technician that if after replacing the valve body on an 8L45 or 8L90 transmission the vehicle will not move the valve body may be missing a plug and retainer bolt. Technician's are instructed to obtain and install a plug and retainer bolt kit from the GM Warranty Parts Center to address this concern.

8L45 or 8L90 transmissions with no movement after the valve body replacement.
Cause
Plug and retaining bolt may be missing on valve body part numbers
24296270, 24296272, 24296273, 24297634 and 24297637.
Correction:
Inspect for the plug and retaining bolt for being present in the picture shown below.
If the plug and retaining bolt are missing as shown in the picture below please ll out the WPC part request form
and send it to the WPC following the instructions below.
The plug and retaining bolt are packaged as a kit.
The kit part number is WPC 853
.
