The end cap welds on certain fuel tanks may not meet internal quality standards due to improper weld equipment settings.
Chassis Affected
1125 chassis (1023 U.S. and 102 Canada), T680, T800, T880, W900, W990 Model Year 2020 vehicles built from 04/04/2019 through 05/01/2019
equipped with affected fuel tanks. See the attached chassis list for specific chassis and fuel tank locations.
To assist the fuel tank supplier in keeping up with part demand, chassis will be added in phases of 100-150 chassis per phase. The chassis list will
be updated for each phase. The timing of updates is directly related to the number of tanks ordered and the number of fuel tanks the supplier can
produce.

Service all chassis affected that enter your dealership, even if the customer has no issue with the chassis.

Review the attached chassis list for your dealer code and schedule your customer(s) for service if their chassis is on the list.
Confirm with the customer that your dealership will be the repairing location before ordering parts.
Do an inventory of the parts to ensure all required parts have arrived prior to scheduling the chassis for the retrofit.
If you are not using Service Management to start repair orders, review DWWC or SIR for "Complete" or "In Process" next to the "44033"
campaign code prior to performing this repair.
Follow the procedures below to replace the fuel tank.

This campaign can be performed at any time convenient for the customer (for example: during the next scheduled maintenance interval).

Dealers that release trucks on the chassis list without completing the actions described below may face
liability for progressive damage.
Warranty
Through Standard Warranty (excludes Extended Warranty) or for repairs completed by 08/01/2021, whichever is greater, Kenworth
will pay for
parts at dealer net plus applicable mark-up and labor:
Appropriate labor time per the appropriate SRT indicated in the Claim Coding table and the number of fuel tanks to be replaced as indicated
on the chassis list. File a long form claim.

Fuel tanks have a 2-4 week lead time.
Refer to the attached chassis list to determine the fuel tank part number(s) and which tank(s) require replacement. Some chassis will require one
fuel tank to be replaced, some will require two.
Procedure
Replace the fuel tank. For fastener torque specs, refer to service manual
KM819007.
