DESCRIPTION
In order to ensure key code security, MNAO has restricted key code access for the new auxiliary key. This
Service Alert provides information on how to obtain the 10-digit key code needed for cutting a new auxiliary
key blank if all auxiliary keys are lost.
There are currently 2 methods for cutting a new auxiliary key blank.




REPAIR PROCEDURE
A. Auxiliary Key Trace Cut Method
If only one auxiliary key is lost/missing, some key cutting machines can trace cut a new key blank.
1. Trace cut the new auxiliary key(s).
B. Auxiliary Key Code Cut Method
Confirm you have access to a Mazda approved key cutting machine for the new auxiliary key blank. See
“Mazda Approved Key Cutting Machine for New Auxiliary Key” table.
1. Obtain 5-digit key number.NOTE: This 5-digit key number cannot be used to cut a new auxiliary key
blank.

Use any of the following methods to obtain the 5-digit key number

eMDCS

Auxiliary Key Tag

Drivers door key
lock cylinder

2. Contact DSM by email and provide the following information:





Your name
Dealer Code
5-digit key number

3. DSM will respond by email within 48 business hours and provide a 10-digit key code that can be used by
a Mazda approved key cutting machine. See “Mazda Approved Key Cutting Machine for New Auxiliary Key”
table.
4. Cut the new auxiliary key(s).
