DESCRIPTION
This document will guide the user through the proper connection of the DEF coolant line to the engine. This coolant line attaches
to the rear coolant crossover manifold on the A26 and may not be properly locked, causing a loose connection.

An external coolant leak may be observed at the rear of the engine.

SERVICE PARTS INFORMATION

REPAIR STEP(s)

1. Bring vehicle into the shop and park on a flat surface.
2. Shift transmission into park or neutral, set parking brake, and install wheel chocks.
3. Open the hood, and inspect for the source of the coolant leak.
4. If the coolant leak appears to be coming from the rear of the engine, removal of the engine cover assembly may be required
to gain access.
5. Inspect the DEF coolant line connection at the rear of the engine (Figure 1).
6. Inspect the green locking retainer to see if it is properly locked and in position (Figure 2 and 3).
7. If the line is loose or disconnected, properly install the line back on the fitting (Figure 3), and position the locking retainer as
shown.
8. Verify the line is secure, and the locking retainer is fully seated in place.

PROCEDURE TO CONNECT AND DISCONNECT THE LINE
The procedure below describes how to remove and install the line from the fitting if required.

9. To remove the line off the fitting, slide the green locking clip out (Figure #4 Item 1) and then depress the green release button
(Figure #4 Item 2) while pulling the line away from the fitting.
10. To attach the line, make certain the locking clip (Figure #4 Item 1) is slid out. Push the line onto the fitting until it clicks into
place and then push the locking clip (Figure #4 Item 1) inward to lock it in place.
11. Fill cooling system and inspect for leaks.
12. Reassemble interior if disassembled in step 4.
