In the continuing effort to standardize across brands, DTNA is pleased to announce that Detroit Diesel
Corporation (Detroit) and Thomas Built Bus (TBB) parchments will be transitioned to the format used for
Freightliner, Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC), and Western Star.
DTNA’s goal is to improve and align documentation but individual coverages have not changed.
Updated parchments, also known as coverage sheets, will be published on a rolling basis to the brand
folders at DTNAConnect > Warranty Lit > Other Warranty Documents > Coverages. Updating
documentation means that:
• When a refreshed parchment releases, the previous version is taken down
• If coverage time frames have passed, outdated content is pulled (e.g., removed tables about
TBB orders placed prior to 2014; retired the parchment for DaimlerChrysler Proprietary 4M50
and 6M50 Engines Used in Sterling 360 Vehicle Applications)
• New Detroit and TBB parchments are created in the updated format
Parchments are intended for general information and contain three (3) sections:
• Time and distance table(s)
• Coverage descriptions (component paragraphs match OWL)
• The New Product Limited Warranty Statements section of the DTNA Warranty Manual
Please note that a unit’s actual coverage may vary as Warranty is determined by individual
specifications, gross combination weight rating, road surface, vocation, etc. For unit-specific coverage,
enter a product serial number or vehicle identification number (VIN) on the Coverage Info screen in
OWL.

 Detroit
Documents

Front/steer and rear drive axle parchments were the first Detroit documents to be updated. To make it
easier to locate and understand coverage, axle content was split by class/vocation to create multiple
parchments (bus and chassis, medium duty, heavy duty, and severe duty); the table below provides
specific changes. The axle document enhancements will be applied to other powertrain components, if
appropriate.

In conjunction with the axle document project and to ensure axle coverages attach correctly, OWL
coding was also validated and updated, if necessary.
 TBB
Documents

The new C2 Jouley School Bus (WAR604-09), was the first TBB parchment created in the different
format. The C2 Jouley School Bus document provides body coverage and FCCC’s Electric School Bus
Chassis (WAR601-09) contains the associated chassis coverage. Because the C2 Jouley is electric,
some modifications to standard content were made as zero emission information replaced diesel.
For existing documentation, school bus and non-school bus parchments for the C2 and Minotour were
the first to be refreshed and are available on DTNAConnect.
