DT RAM
1500 Floor Console Center Storage Bin Door Inoperable
And Or Stuck Closed
The Storage bin door located under the center
console armrest lid will not open when pushed.
Cause is typically foreign material, of some kind,
lodged on the backside of door (which you
cannot see) - typically a straw or writing utensil.

Flip the storage bin over, remove the four screws
holding the shield shown remove any foreign
objects. Please note: If the customer complains
of the center console cupholder not latching,
please perform this procedure before replacing
the latch.
After reinstalling the shield, make sure all the white clips are
properly engaged on the clip towers.
Open and close the door a few times to
ensure that it works as designed.

Heavy Duty Truck Wheel Hub Caps
On the 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 Heavy Duty
trucks there is a small plastic/chrome hub cap
that is dealer installed during the New Vehicle
Prep. If the retention clips are not aligned or
damaged during installation, or the cover is not
installed completely, the hub cap will become
detached from the vehicle while it is moving. (see
below)
If this occurs and the customer explains that the
hub cap was lost, this is a dealership
workmanship issue and is not considered a
defect in material or workmanship from the
manufacturer and as such cannot be claimed on
a warranty claim. Any warrantable concern must
be noted prior to the time of installation. At that
time only can any defect in material or
workmanship be noted and filed as a warrantable
condition.
NOTE: The faux wheel nuts of the cap do not
align to the actual wheel nuts. They are centered
between the wheel nuts.
Customers returning after delivery with missing
hub caps could be considered for Consumer
Goodwill, but should never be considered as a
warrantable concern. Claims filed as missing,
without the Consumer Goodwill LOP or 85-85CG-09, will be charged back as non-warrantable.

All Vehicles With A “Capless” Fuel Filler System
We have seen a number of fuel tanks replaced
that are tested and have no issues. So, the
following information is provided to assist with
the correct diagnosis in order to fix the issue on
the First Visit.
a. When did the "Premature Shutoffs" or "Hard to
Fill" complaint(s) start occurring and how often
does it occur?
b. During filling does the gas pump shutoff within
the first gallon?
Before a customer delivers their vehicle to the
Dealership for analysis of “Premature Shutoffs”
or a “Hard to Fill” compliant when fueling the
vehicle, the customer should be requested to
bring in their vehicle with a ¼ tank of fuel or less
by the Service Scheduler or the Service Advisor.
Ask the customer for pre-authorization of fueling
expense in order to do a proper diagnosis of the
“Premature Shutoff” or “Hard to Fill” issue.
The Service Advisor should ask the customer
some basic information to gain an understanding
for the technician to properly analyze the vehicle.
Questions to ask:
The first step the technician should do is check
the fuel filler tube for any damage or obstruction.
For vehicles that have the Capless unit filler tube,
open the first door and check that the second
door has a black tapered tab with an orange seal,
as shown below on the left side. If you only see
the steel door, then replace the fuel filler tube.

If no issue is found with the
fuel filler doors, then insert
the Emergency Fuel Fill
funnel in the filler tube
to a depth that will open
both doors to look for
obstruction below the
second door. If obstruction
is found in the filler tube,
then replace the filler tube.
If no issue is found with the filler tube, then
proceed with filling the vehicle with fuel to verify
the customer complaint.
If the customer complaint is “Premature shutoffs” at the beginning of fueling, then the
technician should only put in 5 gallons of fuel to
verify complaint.
If the customer complaint is "Hard to Fill" or
"Slow to Fill" after more than 1/2 a tank, then
continue filling vehicle with fuel until the pump
shuts off and monitor fuel fill and any shut-offs.
If there is no premature shut-offs or slow to fill,
then contact the customer for gathering more
information on the fill issue. Show the customer
a picture of the Capless unit filler tube and
describe the importance of nozzle depth insertion
for opening the second door.
If there are "Premature Shut-offs" or a "Hard to
Fill" condition when putting fuel in the vehicle,
then you need to follow the diagnostic
procedure of fuel delivery for determining
the driving issue.

“Hard to Fill” complaints.

DT Keyfob Service Note
1) Verify the FOB is a DT keyfob: the only kind of
keyfob supplied with these vehicles is shown
below. If the fob is of a different shape, it is
not a DT fob.

2) Check if the physical metal key is integrated into
the keyfob and operates the door lock cylinder;
if not, this keyfob belongs to a different vehicle.
3) Check to make sure that the LED indicator
blinks whenever you press any button. If it
does not, service the keyfob coin battery.
4) When starting the vehicle with the ignition
switch push button(KIN), verify that the
key fob LED blinks. This verifies keyfob
belongs to the vehicle and is in good
condition.
After replacing the coin battery, verify that
the LED light blinks. If it doesn’t blink after
replacing coin battery, service keyfob.
5) If keyfob is still not operating, follow vehicle
level diagnostics procedure. Please ensure
keyfob is away from any Radio Frequency
interference caused by aftermarket devices like
any other keyfob, mobile phone, or navigation
units etc.

How to program a new MOPAR
Keyfob (Note: Do not
attempt to re-program an existing customer keyfob):
Place the keyfob (as shown below) on the
Start/Stop button (do not push the stop start
button). Refer to below pictures. This correct
orientation creates the best possible
communication between the keyfob and the
Start/Stop button. If the keyfob is not oriented
properly, communication may be intermittent,
which will cause programming to fail.
Do not let the fob get away from the KIN until
the wiTECH routine says the “Programming of
Ignition FOBIK successful” (See below picture)
Note: Be careful with the similar looking DJ
Keyfob. Look carefully for the below details to
identify whether the correct DT Keyfob is in
the vehicle.
