Technical background
The profile of the right and/or left hand centre console mood lighting rail can protrude the centre console brightware strip – Refer to Figures 1
and 2

Remedy
Visual confirmation is required in the first instance, should excess material be confirmed the process to remove any excess material must be
followed

Customer notification
Please ensure that all affected vehicles are checked and repaired during the next workshop visit, make a note of the required Campaign on the
workshop order before it is signed by the customer.
If it is omitted to perform the work required for the Campaign during a workshop visit, the customer should be notified immediately.
You should also pass on this information to your new and used car sales departments so that affected vehicles are checked and if necessary

please carry out the required work in accordance with these instructions.

Work
Section 1 – Initial visual check
1) Conduct a visual check of the right and left hand centre console mood lighting rails
IMPORTANT:
•

Should the right and/or left hand mood lighting rails be protruding the brightware strip as shown in Figure 4 or the right and/or left hand
strips are not smooth, the operative MUST now proceed to Section 2

Should the right and left hand mood lighting rails be as shown in Figure 5

And
There is no excess material visible
And
The mood lighting rails are smooth and do not protrude the brightware – No further action is required

Section 2 - Removal of excess material
VERY IMPORTANT:
PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL TRIM – LEATHER AND WOOD IS SUITABLY PROTECTED, ANY WARRANTY CLAIMS WHICH ARE SUBMITTED
FOR DAMAGE ON/OR AROUND THE CENTRE CONSOLE OR ANY COMPONENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PROCEDURE WILL BE
REJECTED
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE EXCESS MATERIAL WITH THE CENTRE CONSOLE FASCIA PANEL FITTED WITHIN THE VEHICLE AS
DAMAGE CAN EASILY BE CAUSED TO SURROUNDING COMPONENTS
1) Remove the Front centre console fascia panel - Rep.Gr 64
2) IMPORTANT: Apply masking tape to suitably protect the Centre console wood/brightware prior to conducting the next part of the procedure
IMPORTANT: Only the mood lighting strip should be modified DO NOT attempt to modify the chrome brightware
•

With extreme care - Use a small fine grade needle file (Figure 2) to remove any excess material from the right and/or left hand mood
lighting rail, until the profile is as shown in Figure 5

TIP: After modification ensure the mood lighting rail is smooth and not protruding
3) Refit the Front centre console fascia panel - Rep.Gr 64
4) Place a yellow paint completion mark on the steering column adjustment switch case (Figure 6)
