WKF8 - Replacing PSCB Brake Pads on Front Axle and Replacing Brake Pad Retainer

Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB)

Information:

There is a possibility that road salt used during snow clearing and gritting can sometimes have
a negative effect on the friction coefficient of PSCB brake pads containing copper.
This may result in a delayed braking response.

Remedial
Action:

Replace the PSCB brake pads on the front axle with brake pads without copper content.
Additionally replace the brake pad retainer springs on the rear axle to prevent brake noises
("squealing") at low speeds.

Information
Please note that the PSCB brake pads on the front axle or the brake pad retainer springs on the rear
axle have already been replaced on some of the vehicles affected by the campaign due to a customer
complaint.
For this reason, specific campaign scopes have been defined and each vehicle has been clearly assigned
just one campaign scope.

Replace brake pad retainer springs on the rear axle on both sides.
The procedure for replacing the brake pad retainer spring is described in the Workshop Manual 

Install disc brake pads on the brake discs by pressing the brake pedal several times until the
pressure point of the brake pedal has returned to normal.

Check brake fluid level and correct it if necessary.
