Complaint:

The retrofitted front door exit lamp(s) with logo projection may flicker or flash intermittently (See attached video).
DTC B175911 'The output for the exit and warning lamp has a malfunction. There is a short circuit to ground' may populate in the door control unit (N69/1 and/or N69/2) after the complaint occurs

Cause:

The door control unit has current limiting which can result in flickering / flashing.

Remedy:

Please check Vedoc to ensure the vehicle has the proper SA code:
Model series 167/177/257/238 -> code o26 (Note: letter "o", not zero)
Model series 118/247 -> code 586 OR code o26 (Note: letter "o", not zero)
Model series 222/217 -> code E72
If the vehicle does not have the code applied or the part is being newly retrofitted, the SA code can be added via
XENTRY diagnosis (special functions -> entry for retrofits and modifications). Once the code is added SCN code both
door control modules and test functionality.
Important: As of 03/2020, the labor time required for SCN coding the door control units is already taken into account
during the installation of the logo projection lamp. Therefore, if the vehicle was retrofitted with the logo projection
lamps at the dealership the SCN coding cannot be billed/submitted via warranty. The WIS documentation will be corrected as soon as possible for all affected models. At the time of publication the WIS instructions for the 177 and 167
chassis are up-to-date and can be used as a reference.
NOTE: Do not replace any parts.
