New DAVIE4 Tests Replace Drive Cycle Tests

Introduction

Dealers should be aware that new DAVIE4 tests are available to replace Drive Cycle tests for certain vehicles.
Resolution

Information Only

Effective immediately, for chassis with EMY2016 and 2019 or newer PACCAR MX-13 and MX-11 engines, it is no longer necessary

to contact VSC to clear DTC’s when a Drive Cycle test cannot be performed. See the Procedure section below.

Be aware that SRTs are being changed as the RMI instructions are updated. RMI troubleshooting trees for appropriate DTCs have

been updated to call out the new tests in place of Drive Cycle tests.

For repairs on the affected chassis starting on 5/04/2020, claims for contacting VSC to clear DTCs (SRT 101-022: Obtaining

a Service Level Key Code) may be adjusted.

The following new SRTs have been created for these tests, which will clear the DTCs.

100-545: Verification cycle: Evaluate the Aftertreatment Temperature Sensors (Without Monitoring), 0.4 hours

100-546: Verification cycle: Evaluate the SCR System (Without Monitoring), 0.4 hours

Ensure DAVIE4 is up-to-date.

Refer to RMI for appropriate test instructions.

Engine software may need to be updated to provide test functionality.

Evaluate the aftertreatment temperature sensors
For Engine Model Year 2018 and older chassis, the Engine Model Year can be found in the SIR Campaigns section.

For EMY2016 RC8, EMY2019 RC02, and EMY2020 RC01 DAVIE4 version 19.33 or later is needed to run these tests. Additional
