SITUATION
The hatch may unintentionally open.
Note: This bulletin only affects the above model vehicles which previously had the Conversion,
opening of tailgate only possible after unlocking (activation required in the vehicle menu) that
is outlined in SI B51 30 16 completed.
CAUSE
The key buttons may require too little pressure, causing an accidental opening of the rear hatch when
stationary.
CORRECTION
Replace both keys. Replacement keys are improved and share the same part number. The pressure
required to activate a button is increased.
PROCEDURE
Replace both keys.
Reference REP 66 12… ”Teach in radio remote control/radio remote control with display (BMW
Display key)
for instructions on teaching in replacement remotes.
