IF YOU CONFIRM
A rattle type noise is coming from the moonroof in the areas circled in green in Figure 1
AND
The rattle goes away after removing the moonroof inner finisher(s).

NOTE: The rattle noise may be intermittent and may be heard from one or both sides of the vehicle.
ACTION
Apply flocking tape to the moonroof inner finisher on both sides of the vehicle.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.

Open the sunshade.

2.

Open the moonroof two (2) inches.

3.

Using a suitable tool, remove the side
sunshade finisher (RH side is shown, LH side
is a mirror image).

4.

Using a suitable tool, release the pawls and
remove the moonroof inner finisher from the
moonroof (RH side is shown, LH side is a
mirror image).

5.

Place the moonroof inner finisher upside down on a suitable work surface.

6.

Cut seven (7) pieces of flocking tape that are approximately ¾ inch (20 mm) in length.


Refer to PARTS INFORMATION for flocking tape.

7.

Apply one (1) piece of flocking tape to each of the seven (7) raised ribs on the backside of the moonroof
inner finisher, as shown in Figure 4.

8.

Reinstall the moonroof inner finisher.

9.

Reinstall the side sunshade finisher.

10.

Repeats steps 3 – 9 on the opposite side of the vehicle.
