Repair Instructions

Fuel Pressure Sensor, Replacement

*Note: Please check that the fuel filter is not clogged and/or has been replaced through the maintenance schedule

before proceeding to replace the Oil Pressure Sensor.
Removal

1. Park the vehicle on a flat level surface, apply the parking brake, and place the shift lever in neutral (manual

transmission) or Park (automatic transmission). Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.

2. Position wheel chocks at the vehicle rear wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling.

3. Operate the hood release and raise the hood of the vehicle.

4. Disconnect all cables from the negative (ground) battery terminals to prevent personal injury from electrical

shock and prevent damage to electrical components.

5. Disconnect the wiring harness lead from the fuel pressure sensor connector.
6. Remove the defective sensor from the top of the fuel filter housing. Remove and discard the old O-ring.
Installation

1. Place a new O-ring on the fuel pressure sensor port on top of the fuel filter housing. Screw in the replacement

fuel pressure sensor by hand until finger tight, then, tighten the sensor hexagon nut to specification. Refer to

Function Group 20, Specifications.

2. Connect the electrical harness lead to the connector on the replacement fuel pressure sensor.
3. Reconnect all previously removed cables to the negative (ground) battery terminals.

4. Start the vehicle and check for proper operation; use the Tech Tool to check and clear any diagnostic trouble

codes (DTC).

5. Close and latch the vehicle hood.

6. Remove the chocks from the rear wheels.

These repairs are the most likely fix for the identified fault, if this does not fix the issue, Tech Tool will need to be

used for more detailed diagnostics. If filing a warranty claim, please include the ASIST case number.

Sensor de presión de combustible, reemplazo

Nota: Compruebe que el filtro de combustible no esté obstruido y / o haya sido reemplazado a través del programa

de mantenimiento antes de proceder a reemplazar el sensor de presión de aceite.

Desinstalación

1. Estacione el vehículo en una superficie plana, aplique el freno de estacionamiento y coloque la palanca de

cambios en punto muerto (transmisión manual) o Estacionar (transmisión automática). Gire la llave de

contacto a la posición OFF.

2. Coloque calzos en las ruedas traseras del vehículo para evitar que el vehículo ruede.

3. Accione la apertura del capó y levante el capó del vehículo.

4. Desconecte todos los cables de los terminales negativos (tierra) de la batería para evitar lesiones personales

por descargas eléctricas y daños a los componentes eléctricos.

5. Desconecte el cable del mazo de cables del conector del sensor de presión de combustible.
6. Retire el sensor defectuoso de la parte superior de la carcasa del filtro de combustible. Retire y deseche la

junta tórica vieja.
Instalación

1. Coloque una nueva junta tórica en el puerto del sensor de presión de combustible en la parte superior de la

carcasa del filtro de combustible. Atornille el sensor de presión de combustible de repuesto con la mano

hasta que quede apretado con los dedos, luego, apriete la tuerca hexagonal del sensor según las

especificaciones. Consulte el Grupo de funciones 20, Especificaciones.

2. Conecte el cable del arnés eléctrico al conector del sensor de presión de combustible de repuesto.
3. Vuelva a conectar todos los cables retirados previamente a los terminales negativos (tierra) de la batería.

4. Arranque el vehículo y verifique que funcione correctamente; use la herramienta técnica para verificar y

borrar los códigos de diagnóstico de problemas (DTC).

5. Cierre y trabe el capó del vehículo.

6. Retire los calzos de las ruedas traseras.

Es muy probable que estas reparaciones solucionen la falla identificada; si esto no soluciona el problema, se

requerirá el uso de Tech Tool para diagnósticos más detallados. Si presenta una reclamación de garantía,

incluya el número de caso ASIST.
