Repair Instructions
Aftertreatment Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Line, Electrically Heated, Replacement (Tank to Dosing Valve)
Removal
1. Apply the parking brake and place the shift lever in neutral.
2. Pull the vehicle hood latch and raise the hood.
3. Disconnect all cables from the negative (ground) battery terminals to prevent personal injury from electrical
shock and prevent damage to electrical components.
4. If equipped, remove the vehicle right-side chassis fairing (under the passenger-side door) covering the DEF
tank and surrounding components. Store the fairing in a secure location.
5. Remove the fasteners securing the right-side inner fender to the vehicle and remove the fender. Store the
fender in a secure location.

6. At the DEF pump, disconnect the following: connection to front chassis harness, DEF quality sensor, DEF
pump electrical connector, and the solenoid valve connector.
7. Cut the tie straps securing the DEF line to the vehicle chassis and aftertreatment assembly and remove the
defective line from the vehicle.
Installation
1. At the DEF pump, reconnect the connection to front chassis harness, DEF quality sensor, DEF pump
electrical connector, and the solenoid valve connector. Secure the harness using plastic tie straps.
2. Reconnect all previously removed cables to the negative (ground) battery terminals.
3. Start the engine and check for leaks and the proper operation of the replacement heated DEF line.
4. Use the fasteners to secure the right-side inner fender to the vehicle.
5. If equipped, position the vehicle right-side chassis fairing (under the passenger-side door) on the vehicle
chassis and secure with the fasteners.
6. Close the vehicle hood.

Instrucciones de reparación
Línea de fluido de escape diésel de postratamiento (DEF), calentada eléctricamente, reemplazo (tanque a válvula
de dosificación)
Retiro
1. Aplique el freno de estacionamiento y coloque la palanca de cambios en punto muerto.
2. Abra el bloqueo del toldo y levante el toldo del vehículo.
3. Desconecte todos los cables de los terminales negativos (tierra) de la batería para evitar lesiones por
descargas eléctricas y daños en los componentes eléctricos.
4. Si está equipado, retire el compensador de chasis en el lado derecho del vehículo (bajo la puerta del
pasajero) que cubre el tanque de DEF y los componentes circundantes. Guarde el compensador en
una ubicación segura.
5. Retire los sujetadores que aseguran el guardabarro interno de la derecha al vehículo y retire el
guardabarro. Guarde el guardabarro en una ubicación segura.

6. En la bomba de DEF, desconecte lo siguiente: conexión al arnés de chasis delantero, sensor de calidad de
DEF, conector eléctrico de la bomba de DEF y el conector de la válvula de solenoide.
7. Corte las correas que aseguran la línea de DEF al chasis del vehículo y el conjunto de postratamiento, y
retire la línea defectuosa del vehículo.
Instalación
1. En la bomba de DEF, reconecte la conexión al arnés de chasis delantero, sensor de calidad de DEF,
conector eléctrico de la bomba de DEF y al conector de la válvula de solenoide. Asegure el arnés con
correas de plástico.
2. Vuelva a conectar todos los cables retirados anteriormente a los terminales negativos (tierra) de la batería.
3. Encienda el motor y revise fugas y el funcionamiento adecuado del reemplazo de la línea de DEF calentada.
4. Utilice los sujetadores para asegurar el guardabarro interno de la derecha al vehículo.
5. Si está equipado, ubique el compensador de chasis en el lado derecho (bajo la puerta del pasajero) en el
chasis del vehículo y asegure con los sujetadores.
6. Cierre el capó del vehículo.
