Cause:
Incorrect processing of the GPS signal within the head unit
Remedy:
Erroneous service alert or emissions inspection notice in instrument cluster and date/time in instrument cluster incorrect (short-term remedy to avoid the deadline notice appearing with every ignition sequence):
Method 1 - Enter instrument cluster using steering wheel buttons:
1. Select Settings
2. Deactivate time synchronization between instrument cluster and HU (attachment 2)
3. Manually set/correct date/time (attachment 3)
Method 2 - Enter instrument cluster using XENTRY Diagnostics:
1. Select Control units
2. Select Adaptations
3. Select Variant coding
4. Special equipment: Code navigation system to "not available"
5. Set date/time manually (attachment 3)
Note: This deactivates the navigation display in the instrument cluster.

Currently being analyzed.
For technical reasons, there will be NO remedy for the following vehicles:
- Vehicles with code 525 (Audio 50 APS NTG 1)
- Model series 230 (SL) with a "SIEMENS" head unit. Information on specifying whether a SIEMENS control unit is installed can be found in the quick test. To do this, in the content on "COMAND" search for a serial number starting with
the abbreviation "SI" for SIEMENS.
NOTE: Please do not replace/exchange any parts. Emissions inspection notice is not relevant to vehicles in the US
market.
