On March 5, Volkswagen notified 68,000 customers of a Takata Incentive Program to
assist with getting affected vehicles in for repair. This Takata-specific Incentive program
will
allow
customers
to
claim
a
$20.00
Visa
gift
card
via www.volkswagenrebates.com/airbagrebate after they’ve had their repair
performed.
Customers must allow 8–10 weeks for delivery of Visa Prepaid Card. All rebate
submissions must be received by 11:59 PM ET 5.15.2020.
The Visa Card is issued by MetaBank®, Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa
U.S.A. Inc. No cash access or recurring payments. Can be used everywhere Visa debit
cards are accepted. Cards expire after 6 months; unused funds will forfeit after the valid
through date. Card terms and conditions apply.

Note: The Takata Alternate Transportation Program is still available for owner use
until April 30, 2020. Please make every effort to quickly secure transportation and
schedule owners who contact your dealership for a repair appointment.

New Vehicles in Dealer Inventory: It is a violation of federal law for a dealer to deliver a new
motor vehicle or any new or used item of motor vehicle equipment (including a tire) covered by
this notification under a sale or lease until the defect or noncompliance is remedied. By law,
dealers must correct, prior to delivery for sale or lease, any vehicle that fails to comply with an
applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard or that contains a defect relating to motor
vehicle safety.
Pre-Owned Vehicles in Dealer Inventory: Dealers should not deliver any pre-owned vehicles in
their inventory which are involved in a safety or compliance recall until the defect has been
remedied.
