This bulletin provides the procedure to perform a wire harness upgrade on some 2020MY
Telluride (ON) vehicles, produced from January 8, 2019 through June 4, 2019, which may
experience a condition where the rear HVAC control head does not retain its previous settings
and/or may reset to A/C on after the vehicle is turned off for a prolonged period of time. Follow
the procedure outlined in this bulletin to perform the wire harness upgrade to retain the
previous rear HVAC control head setting.

SUBJECT:
REAR HVAC CONTROL IMPROVEMENT
Repair Procedure:
1. Remove the front left pillar trim by
referring to “Body (Interior and Exterior)
→ Interior Trim → Front Pillar Trim →
Repair procedures” chapter in the
applicable Shop Manual on KGIS.
2.
Disconnect the main harness connector
(A) MR-11 and locate the “red” colored
wire (Pin 25).

Cut the “red” colored wire 2” inches from
the main harness connector and splice
the connector end of the “red” wire (57mm) where shown.
Cover this wire end
Note: Use electrical tape to cover the
other cut wire end on the harness.
5 - 7mm
4a. Take the “red” wire from the supplied kit
shown below and crimp the supplied
heat shrink connector to the existing
sliced wire end.
4b. Repeat crimping of the heat shrink
connector to the main harness “red” wire
(Pin 25) and apply heat using a heat gun.

Insert the opposite end of the “red” wire
from the supplied kit in the same area
following the main harness.
NOTICE
When feeding the wire down,
aim the wire to end behind the
Integrated Central Control Unit
(ICU) located behind the crash
pad lower panel.
6.
In the back of the ICU, locate the white
ICU-E junction block (24-WHT) and
disconnect the junction block from the
ICU.
Note: Image of the removed ICU is for
reference only.
7.
Using a pick tool, pull up on the
secondary locking tab to unlock the white
junction block wire Pins. Note: Two (2)
pull inserts shown.
NOTICE
Be sure that none of the
harness wires/Pins detach from
the white junction box.
8.
Insert the supplied “red” wire Pin
connector end from the kit into the back
of the white junction block, Pin 18.
Ensure the crimp orientation is facing the
secondary locking tab.

Push down on the secondary locking tab
of the junction block to lock wires.

Secure the “red” wire to the junction
block wire harness by using insulation
adhesive tape if available. Electrical tape
and/or zip-ties may also be used.
10. Connect the white junction block to the
back of the ICU.
11. Install all removed parts in the reverse
order of removal.
12. Ensure proper operation of the rear
HVAC.
