AFFECTED VEHICLES: Certain 2013 Outlander Sport/RVR
This document replaces TIN-12-42A-001 issued October, 2012, to provide updated
information about the use of temporary production and service parts being extended
due to continued supply issues. Individual changes are not identified.
PURPOSE
Due to a supply issue with the “snap-in” type Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensor,
subject vehicles are temporarily being built using the 2012 “clamp in” type sensor. This
change will affect production and service parts until the supply issue is resolved. An owner’s
manual addendum card reflecting this change has been placed in the glove box of affected
vehicles.
The TPMS sensor type can be easily identified by the valve stem.
Snap in Type – 4250C276

Clamp in type – 4250B975

This change is effective with the following vehicles:
•

18” alloy wheels:

DE007466 built 10/18/2012

•

16” alloy wheels:

DE007527 built 10/17/2012

• 16” steel wheels: DE007484 built 10/18/2012
This change will result in p/n 4250C276 being temporarily superseded to p/n 4250B975 in the
service parts system. Once p/n 4250C276 becomes available, the supersession will be
broken, allowing supply of both part numbers. If a replacement sensor is required, install p/n
4250B975. If a customer comments about the cosmetic difference, advise them the original
specification sensor can be installed, at no cost to them, when inventory becomes available.
There is no affect to diagnostic or registration procedures. Both sensor types use the same
diagnostic trouble codes and registration steps.
