Purpose for Service Bulletin
This bulletin informs dealers that Harley-Davidson has made
a software update to the LiveWire™ related to the following
modules:
• OBC (On-Board Charger)

RESS Software Updates

This software update is required for all LiveWire vehicles
manufactured before January 10, 2020 and will be reimbursed
under warranty. Perform this update as soon as possible on
any affected units in dealer inventory, and on all units sold and
delivered to customers. Dealers should contact their LiveWire
customers and arrange to perform this update.

NOTE
If the RESS software is not updated, the RESS may be
permanently disabled during AC (Alternating Current) charging
if left plugged in for durations longer than 12 h.

DT II (Digital Technician II) and TL-3 (Techlink 3) through the
reflash tab.

Credit Procedure
NOTE
• Enter bulletin number into comment section of claim.
• If a previous update version has been installed, install new
software version and submit a new claim as per Table 2.
Submit a warranty claim per Table 2 for all module updates
that are covered under this bulletin.
Updated software versions must be installed in all applicable
vehicles. Submit a claim per Table 2 to receive credit for
performing these updates. The same credit table can be used
for the same vehicle multiple times.
This credit procedure includes all labor time necessary to
perform all software updates associated with this bulletin. Only
submit 1 claim after all updates have been completed.
