Camshaft Cover Tightening Sequence
Model Affected:
Tiger Sport, Speed Triple S, Speed Triple R, Speed Triple RS
The tightening sequence for the camshaft cover fixings for the above models has changed to the two stage
sequence described below.
1.
Fit the camshaft cover fixings and seals, then tighten until finger tight.
2. Tighten the fixings in the sequence shown below to 4 Nm.

3. Finally, tighten the camshaft cover fixings to in the same sequence to 14 Nm.
When ordering replacement parts, refer to the EPC.

Description:
Replacement Keyless ECM Setup Process
Model Affected:
Scrambler 1200 XC and Scrambler 1200 XE
Replacement keyless ECMs can be setup on the above on the above models using the Triumph
diagnostic
tool.
The instruction below details the steps necessary to complete the setup process. This instruction replaces
the process detailed in the Service Manual.
Note:

Before starting the setup procedure, make sure the battery voltage is at least 12.8 Volts.
An approved battery charger suitable for use with maintenance free batteries, may be used to
maintain battery charge during the setup process.

Download and install the latest version of the Triumph
diagnostic tool to your computer as described in
the Triumph
Diagnostic Tool Installation Guide.
Install the replacement ECM.
Make sure you have all new keys ready.
Connect the Triumph
diagnostic tool.
Update the Keyless ECM (Partial Update)
A partial keyless ECM update is required to install the software necessary to allow the first key to be paired.
It is not possible to complete the full keyless ECM download until after the first key has been paired.

Navigate to DOWNLOAD - KEYLESS ECM DOWNLOAD.
2. Use manual model selection to select the correct keyless ECM calibration for your model and region.
3. Press the power ON/OFF button on the motorcycle.

The motorcycle will not visibly power ON.

Within 10 seconds, click Confirm to start the calibration download.
When prompted, turn the ignition OFF and click Next.
Allow the download progress to reach 100%.
When prompted to present a key and turn the ignition On, click Cancel.

Return to the Main Menu.

Pair the Smart key

Navigate to CHASSIS DIAGNOSTICS.
Press the power ON/OFF button on the motorcycle.
Note:

The motorcycle will not visibly power ON.

Within 10 seconds, click IMMOBILISER DIAGNOSTICS and click Connect.
When immobiliser diagnostics has connected, click Configure.
Click Add New Key.
Wait for the 300 second time delay to complete.
When prompted, place the smart key on the LF antenna to pair it.
When paired, click Finish.
Press and release the smart key button.
Note:

Do not exit the immobiliser diagnostic session.
Make sure the smart key is turned on and kept in range of the motorcycle for the remainder of this
procedure.
Update the Keyless ECM (Full Update)

Navigate to DOWNLOAD - KEYLESS ECM DOWNLOAD.
Use manual model selection to select the correct keyless ECM calibration for your model and region.
Click Confirm to start the calibration download.
Follow all on screen instructions and allow the download to complete as normal.
Click Finish when the download has completed.
Pair the Engine ECM

Switch the engine stop switch to the RUN position.
Navigate to CHASSIS DIAGNOSTICS - IMMOBILISER DIAGNOSTICS - Configure.
Click Pair ECM and Immobiliser.
Wait for the 300 second time delay to complete.
When paired, click Finish.
Pair the Passive Keys

Use the Add New Key function to pair the two passive keys.
When paired, return to the Main Menu.

Check all ECMs for stored DTCs and erase as necessary.
Make sure that the engine can be started using each key. After each key is tested, turn the ignition
OFF and allow one minute for the motorcycle to fully power down before testing the next key.

Diagnostic Tool User
Guide.

The pinpoint test for ABS Modulator Communication (DTC P1521) has changed for the above models . This
information amends the pinpoint test contained in the Fuel System and Engine Management section of the
current Service Manual.
The revised pinpoint test is as described below.
