DAMPER, Steering Additional service procedure steps after replacing the steering damper: Verify the correct orientation of the steering damper. With the vehicle on the ground, it is required to turn the steering wheel for five lock to lock turns ( ?Full Left ? Full Right ? Center? OR ?Full Right ? Full Left ? Center? counted as 1) at 1 rotation/sec to prime the steering damper and purge out the air. NOTE: It is important to prime the new damper by rotating the steering wheel five fulllock to lockturns to purge any trapped air out.

Issue Additional service procedure steps after replacing the steering damper:
Description:
After the steering damper is assembled in the correct orientation (base cup bulge at
6 o’clock location) lower the vehicle on the ground.
With the vehicle on the ground, it is required to turn the steering wheel for
five continuous full lock to lock turns (“Full Left – Full Right – Center” OR “Full Right
– Full Left – Center” counted as 1) at a minimum speed of 1 rotation/sec without any
stops to prime the steering damper and purge out the air.
NOTE: It is important to prime the new damper by rotating the steering wheel
Five continuous full lock to lock turns as fast as possible without any stops to purge
any trapped air out.
