Technical background
A manufacturing error within the “Gateway” control unit may result in Global Positioning System (GPS) giving an incorrect vehicle location. The
customer will therefore be unable to see the correct vehicle location in “Car finder” or “Stolen vehicle locator”. Software update is required to
restore correct functionality.

Remedy
On all affected vehicles a Software Version Management update is required.

Customer notification
Customers do not need to be informed directly of this Campaign. Please ensure that all affected vehicles are checked and repaired during a
service visit. You should also inform your new and used car sales departments so that the vehicles affected can be checked , and if necessary
repaired immediately and not just prior to sale.

Check
If the vehicle is not already listed as repaired in the “Repair History” section of ElsaPro, check for the presence of a Campaign identification mark
as shown in the “ Identification ” section of this document.

Work
Ensure a suitable battery charger is correctly connected to the vehicle electrical system for the duration of this procedure.
Open the vehicle glovebox and place the ignition key in the remote key reader, switch on the ignition – figure 1.

Connect the Bentley approved diagnostic tool to the vehicle On Board Diagnostic (OBD) socket.
Note: Hardwire connections should be used between the diagnostic tool and the OBD socket and when connecting broadband
to the diagnostic tool.
From the diagnostic tool main desktop select Off board Diagnostic Information System (ODIS).
Select and run Guided Fault Finding . Within the Special Functions tab select SVM – Code input, then select Perform test – Figure 2.

On the next screen enter SVM code 37019LSJG01 and select Adopt – figure 3.

On the following screen confirm the SVM code and select Yes .
Follow the on screen prompts, vehicle control modules will now be interrogated.
Continue to follow on screen prompts until the software for the Gateway module is updated.
Once complete a confirmation message will show all actions have been completed successfully. Select Done/Continue , follow the on screen
prompts until program end – figure 4.

On completion apply a yellow Campaign identification mark inside the cover of the under bonnet fuse board – figure 5.
