Title: Auxiliary Engine Speed Control On MaxxForce® Engines (12VZA)
Applies To: All MaxxForce® Engines
Description
International
medium duty trucks are available from the factory with feature code 12VZA, remote mounted
engine control. With this feature code, there are wires that are already connected to the ECM for easier access
to connect body builder wiring. International medium duty trucks built from 2007-2009 will have a bundle of 13
purple and gray blunt cut wires located at the drivers side engine compartment. On 2010 and later International
medium duty trucks, instead of the blunt cut wires, there will be one 12 pin Deutsch connector and one 2 pin
Deutsch connector also located at the drivers side engine compartment. On post 2010 MaxxForce V8 engines,
it is located on the harness at the left front of the engine running from the top to the bottom. This may be located
behind the air compressor. A RESCM is not needed. All auxiliary engine speed control wiring should be
hardwired, for simplicity. If the vehicle was not built with 12VZA, you will need to install the wiring directly to the
ECM.
