We have identified that the stub shafts on the front idler on OLB840 trailers with the hydraulic tensioning for the live bottom belt have a portion of the grease journal that needs to be plugged to grease the front idler bearings correctly.

RE: Plugging Grease Journal Holes In Stub Shafts

We have identified that the stub shafts on the front idler on OLB840
trailers with the hydraulic tensioning for the live bottom belt have a
portion of the grease journal that needs to be plugged to grease the
front idler bearings correctly.
The repair will take 2 hours. Contact Trail King

OLB840 Plugging Grease Journal Holes
AS NOTED IN THE 1ST PIC, THE 10-24 X ¼” LONG ALLEN HEAD SET SCREW SHOULD BE INSTALLED WITH LOCTITE
AND SCREWED IN SO IT IS FLUSH WITH THE EXISTING THREADS IN THE STUB SHAFT BUT NO FARTHER SO NOT TO
BLOCK GREASE PASSAGE TO THE IDLER BEARING

OLB840 Plugging Grease Journal Holes
1.) After installing plug, engage truck PTO. Allow hydraulic system to circulate for 1 minute to allow
any air to drain from system. (Do not operate conveyor at this time)
2.) With truck PTO still engaged close the small ball valve behind the accumulator tank.
3.) Slowly close the large ball valve above the accumulator tank untill the in line pressure gauge at
the front drivers side of the trailer reaches 2000psi. Hold valve at this position for 5 seconds
then reopen large ball valve. Reinstall bolt at ends of take up shaft
