Technical Background
Temperature related expansion/contraction can lead to damage of the seat trim attachment points.

Production Solution
The trim material for production and service has been improved.

Service
1. Replace the front seat side trim as outlined in Table 1, following the repair instructions in Elsa. Refer to ETKA
if a side airbag replacement is required.
2. Modify the trim brackets as outlined in Table 1 by elongating the clip receiver by 7mm (~ 9/32”) (Figure 4).

3. The trim fastener torque was
reduced (Figure 5). Refer to
Elsa for all fastener torque
specs.

Note:
If a piece of trim has broken off, locate and remove the broken piece before reassembly. If the broken piece
is not removed, it may cause a rattle noise.
4. Roadster only: With the seat
back trim removed, inspect the
headrest guides for damage
(Figure 6). If damaged, replace
guides following the instructions
in Elsa.

5. Coupe only: Replace backrest release trim as needed (Figure 7).

Note:
The material of certain trim replacement parts was changed from HD/PE to PC/ABS which is significantly
stronger. If the trim replacement results in a change of material from HD/PE to PC/ABS, the side airbag and
guide plate repair kit have to be replaced. Refer to ETKA to determine if for the available trim replacement
parts an airbag replacement is necessary.
