Description
Tie Rod End Attachment Nut May Interfere With Disc Brake Caliper on Vehicles With Meritor MFS20K and MFS23K Axles with
Disc Brakes and Deep Inset Wheels.

Introduction
Certain Model 367, 389, and 567 vehicles manufactured between October 12, 2015 and November 24, 2015 with Meritor MFS20 or MFS-23 steer axles, disc brakes, and deep inset wheels, may experience reduced braking capability if the tie rod end
attachment nut interferes with the disc brake caliper.

Resolution
Campaign
Remove and replace the tie rod arm, and install the front disc brake calipers. Some vehicles may require the right and left disc
brake calipers to be swapped in order to return them to their as-designed configuration. The chassis list indicates which vehicles
require the brake calipers to be swapped. For more information, review Step 4 of the procedure at the following ServiceNet link:
B97-6008.

Warranty
Through Standard Warranty or for repairs completed by 11/01/2020, whichever is greater, Peterbilt will reimburse the dealer
for parts at dealer net plus applicable markup and labor.
1.50 hours labor to R&R the calipers to the correct placement.
1.50 hours labor to R&R the tie rod ends with the parts listed below.

Peterbilt is pleased to inform you that certain Model 367, 389, and 567 vehicles are eligible to receive an improved tie rod assembly. Certain
vehicles manufactured with Meritor MFS-20 or MFS-23 axles, disc brakes, and deep inset wheels may experience reduced braking capability
if the tie-rod end attachment nut interferes with the disc brake caliper. The improved tie rod assembly will increase clearance between the
tie rod end attachment nut and brake caliper in order to prevent any interference with braking.

Replacing the tie rod end assembly, and if required, reconfiguring
the brake calipers.

Improve clearance between the tie rod end attachment nut and
brake caliper.
