Just wanted to let you know that we have another incident of an awning deploying on its own while
driving. The customer is heading to PW to have the awning checked because it's not closing properly
and now we have to replace it because it's all damaged. We do hope that there is no damage on the
side of the body.
She is on the side of the road and no one can help her removed the awning so that she can continue to
drive the coach. We have to send our staff and drive like 3 hours to help her out. We really need to
address this fast because it's been happening a lot lately and we are dodging a bullet right now
because no one is hit everytime this happens.

I'm sorry to hear that your customer had their awning opened on them while driving. We are working
with our Italian offices to try to determine what might be causing these failures to happen, and how to
prevent them in the future. The best that my technician and I have been able to determine is that the
winches are splitting, which seems to be creating problems with the awnings opening, but what our
Engineers are trying to determine is what is causing the winch to split, whether it is the part itself or if
there is something else that is forcing the part to break. We actually had a call with Italy regarding this
issue this morning and we stressed the urgency of trying to get this resolved.

Thank you for taking care of the customer's awning and please let me know what we will owe for the
part and labor. It was great that your team was able to go out and help the stranded customer!
Thank you so much for the information. For now, we just need to make sure that customers are taken
care of rightaway because there has been some customers who are posting on PW FB page about this
concern. I actually answered one email this morning about it because he is concern that it might be a
legal matter in the future if keeps on going. My answer to him is below.
3. Fiamma also is very active in fixing customer's concerns on the road under warranty. There will be no
legal battle. That will only happen if there is no action on their part.
However, if the awning hits another vehicle or a person in that matter, that will change everything
really fast. Please keep us posted if there is a new solution to this concern. Up to this time, even the
awning was replaced, this can still happen, right? Please advise.
Since we're not sure what caused the awning to fail in the first place, I can't say for sure that a
replacement awning will not see the same issues as well. The awnings and parts that we use here in
Orlando are the same that you receive directly from Italy, so I cannot see that there would be any
difference. What is interesting is from what we have seen, once a motor or awning has been replaced,
we have not had any follow-up issues with the customers afterwards. The only case that I am aware of
that is actively having multiple issues is one where we originally replaced her motor, and then replaced
her full awning completely less than a month ago, and just today received a call again that the motor
on the brand new awning is "fried." Her case has us stumped as to why she continues to see failures,
so our technician Marcos is trying to work with Van City RV to determine if there is anything else that
might be causing all of these issues.
We try to be as responsive as possible with the warranty claims to minimize the impact for the
customers. We want to make sure that they are happy with our product and strive to provide them
the best quality possible. Hopefully this issue can be resolved quickly and easily, but for some reason
this issue is really proving challenging!
