Customers may comment that while driving at low speeds the rear wheels lock up
and cause the vehicle to come to a stop as if the brakes were applied or the vehicle
was shifted into park.
DTC’s P2727, P2729 or P2724 may be set but not in all situations.
DTC’s may have not set when this condition occurred.
The customer may describe the condition occurred in the following situations:
First situation:
Condition
The vehicle was parked and allowed to hot soak.
The vehicle is restarted.
The transmission is shifted to drive.
The vehicle will drive forward for a short distance and the wheels lock up.
The transmission may stay in this condition for several key cycles and may be towed
in for service.
The transmission will have reverse.
Second situation:
The vehicle is driven and then idled in park from 30 minutes to 4 hours.
The transmission is shifted to drive.
The vehicle will dive forward for a short distance and the wheels lock up.
The transmission may stay in this condition for several key cycles and may be towed
in for service.
The transmission will have reverse.
Cause
Internal TCM
Correction:
Replace the TCM, part number 24296206.
Do not clear any DTC’s from the TCM or perform a Service Fast Learn (SFL). Follow published Service Information
procedures for the replacement of the TCM.
