Description
Eaton Endurant / PACCAR AMT Fluid Pressure Sensor Clearance

Introduction
Certain model 579 and 567 vehicles equipped with Eaton Endurant or PACCAR AMT transmissions, built between 5/01/2017 and 4/07/2019, may
have a fluid pressure sensor rubbing or experiencing hard interference with routing brackets, power cables, wiring harnesses, or air lines in the
driver’s side frame rail.
This problem may present itself in a number of ways including unexplained fault codes, blown fuses or air leaks. Some examples are listed below.
If there is damage to the fluid pressure sensor or wire, there could be a transmission fault code for fluid pressure.
If there is damage to the cab power harness, this could result in Chassis Harness-related faults or blown fuses.
If there is damage to the after-treatment harness, there could be DEF related fault codes.

Resolution
Fix-as-Fail
If a customer comes into your dealership and demonstrates any of the conditions above, inspect the transmission pressure sensor area and
confirm clearance to the surrounding routings. If there is interference or a hard rub, add the 90-degree fitting to achieve the necessary clearance.

Warranty
Through Standard Warranty, Peterbilt will pay for parts at dealer net plus applicable mark-up and labor:
0.5 hours to install the 90-degree fitting for improved clearance to the transmission pressure sensor. Use Quick claim number 26034.
If you are not using SmartLINQ Service Management to start repair orders, review the DWWC or SIR for “Complete” next to the “26-034”
campaign code prior to performing this repair.
Direct Fleets and Dealer Sponsored Fleets (DSF) may not use quick claims when submitting for repairs on chassis related to this bulletin
but must submit a long form specifying part numbers, quantities, and pricing for parts used in the repair. Submittal of a Quick Claim for
repairs made by the Fleet will be denied as pricing is incorrect on quick claims.
File an additional claim for extraordinary circumstances, referencing 26034 in the CCC. A quick claim for standard labor must be filed first.

Procedure

Inspect for clearance between the transmission fluid pressure sensor and the chassis bundle and surrounding routing brackets.
If a rub exists (example in Figure 1), disconnect the harness from the sensor.

Remove the transmission fluid pressure sensor.
Install the 90-degree fitting pointed toward the front of the truck and angle slightly downward (oriented between 8 o’clock and 9 o’clock), as
shown in Figures 2 and 3. The downward angle is necessary to avoid water accumulation. Torque the fitting to 25-28 ft-lbs (34-38 Nm).

Reinstall the sensor into the 90-degree fitting. Torque the sensor to 25-28 ft-lbs (34-38 Nm).
Reconnect the harness to the sensor.
Secure slack as necessary to accommodate the new sensor position. Ensure that there is adequate slack to allow for transmission
movement.
