PROCEDURE:
1. Turn the main battery disconnect switch to the “OFF” position.

2. On the roof of the bus, locate the street side antenna pedestal and remove and retaining hardware Items #1
Screws and #2 Washers on the two antenna plates on either end of the pedestal. See Figure 1
 NOTE: Discard Items #1 Screws and #2 Washers.
3. The plates are sealed in place with Sika sealant so carefully cut the sealant between the plate and the antenna
pedestal and slide the antenna plate over to expose the inside of the end caps on the antenna pedestal.
 Caution: Wear safety glasses and gloves while cutting and cleaning sealant between plates.
4. On both ends of the antenna pedestal remove and discard the existing mounting brackets and hardware.
See Figure 1.

5. Align Item #3 Antenna pedestal support bracket 1.38” up from the lower side screen bracket.
Attach loosely with Items #6 Bolt, #7 Washer, #8 Nut. Apply 1 or 2 drops of Loctite item #9 to the threads of
hardware where weld nuts are used as shown. See Figure 2.
 NOTE: Install hardware Item #7 on front and rear of the mounting surfaces where weld nuts are not
used.
6. Attach Item #4 Antenna mounting bracket loosely with Items #6 Bolt, #7 Washer and #8 Nut. See Figure 2.
 NOTE: Do not tighten hardware Items #6, #7, and #8 at this time.

7. Align Item #3 Antenna pedestal support bracket 3.36” up from the bottom edge of the upper side screen bracket.
See Figure 3.
8. Tighten all mounting hardware in steps 5-6 and torque to 75 IN-LBS. See Figure 2.
9. Drill four 17/64” pass through holes for the remaining hardware in the locations identified using the existing
holes in the mounting brackets as a template. See Figure 3.
10. After drilling the pass through holes Install the remaining hardware Items #6 Bolt, #7 Washer, #8 Nut and torque
to 75 IN-LBS.
 NOTE: Install hardware Item #7 on front and rear of mounting surfaces.

11. Install Item #5 front mounting antenna bracket using items #6 Bolt, #7 Washer, #8 Nut and torque to 75 INLBS.
 NOTE: Install hardware Item #7 on front and rear of mounting surfaces.
12. Install mounting hardware on front roof assembly stud to #5 front mounting antenna bracket with #7 Washer,
#8 Nut and apply 1 or 2 drops of Loctite item #9 to the threads as shown. See Figure 4.
Torque hardware to 75 IN-LBS.

13. On the top of the antenna pedestal, clean off all the old Sika sealant from the pedestal and plate where the
plates were removed in step 3. Be careful not to damage the paint. After the sealant has been removed, use a
lint free cloth dampened with #10 Sika Aktivator and wipe the bonding surfaces of the antenna pedestal and
the antenna plates. Allow to flash off for 5 mins. See Figure 5.



Caution: Wear safety glasses and gloves while cleaning sealant from pedestal and plates.

14. Apply an even bead of Item #11 Sika sealer around the entire perimeter of the antenna mounting plates and on
the existing fasteners for the antenna mounting plates and fasten the plates back in place Using Items #1 Screw,
#2 Washer and apply 1 or 2 drops of Loctite item #9 to the threads as shown. See Figure 5.
15. Wipe off any access sealant that has squeezed out.
16. Remove all tools and debris and return the bus to service condition.
17. Turn the main battery disconnect switch to the “ON” position.
