Dear Dealers,
This bulletin provides the equipment required to convert a production motorcycle into a
DEMO version (to be used in trade fairs and events) and the relevant restoration to the OEM
(Original Equipment Manufacturer) configuration. With DEMO mode enabled, it will be
possible to keep the instrument panel ON in the DEMO mode for display with Riding Mode,
engine rpm, speed, etc. that change over time without using the keys.
To be able to carry out this conversion you need to update software of the instrument panel
and/or of other control units according to the model. It is also required to install an additional
wiring, dedicated for each model, that will allow connecting the motorcycle to a power supply
unit that can preserve the battery status.
To power the motorcycle during trade fairs and events it is necessary to use a specific power
supply unit with the following characteristics:
• Constant voltage: 12 - 13.5 volt
• Direct current: 3 - 5 ampere
Procedure to convert the production motorcycle to a DEMO version
1. Software updates
The software list with the relevant passwords required to perform the update will be
available to be downloaded in the section “News” of the DDS 2.0 and the name of the
file will be “SW_SERVICE_UPDATE_DemoBike_v1”

For updated list of the models with the relevant software programs, refer to the
file “nomi_SW_SERVICE_UPDATE_v29” (or next) that is regularly sent to all

2. Ignition wiring installation
The table below shows the part numbers of the additional wirings, dedicated for each
model, to be ordered and installed to keep the instrument panel ON without using the key
supplied

NOTE
According to the model, it is necessary to disconnect the ignition switch
(mechanical or electronic) from the main wiring and to use the connections to
connect the additional wiring equipped with a switch that allows performing the
Key-ON or Key-OFF

3. Together with the additional wiring, it is also necessary to order the battery power cable
with eyelets with diameter 6 mm part no.5101F461A to connect the power supply unit to
the battery.
Procedure to convert the motorcycle from DEMO to OEM version
To convert a motorcycle from the DEMO version to the OEM version:
1. Install the dedicated OEM software versions on the control units previously updated with
the DEMO version software
The software list with the relevant passwords required to perform the update will be
available to be downloaded in the section “News” of the DDS 2.0 and the name of the file
will be “SW_SERVICE_UPDATE_DemoBike_v1”
2. Remove the additional wiring from the ignition switch connections
3. Connect the ignition switch to the main wiring connections
4. Remove the battery power cable
