General Information

A decked New Cascadia vehicle, equipped with Detroit Diesel New Final Drive (NFD) Axle Top Performance

axles, may have a hub and axle center section that is not adequately filled with oil when it arrives at the dealer.

The decking process can cause up to two quarts of oil to be lost from each axle. The axles need to be filled

once the vehicle arrives at the dealership.
NOTE: This procedure applies to NFD Top Performance Axles only.
Filling Procedure

1. Fill the hubs with approved oil; refer to New Cascadia Workshop Manual, Section 35.04, Subject 230.

2. Fill the center section of the Detroit Final Drive axle; refer to New Cascadia Maintenance Manual, Group

35.01.
Warranty

This procedure is warrantable only if the described condition exists and the repair is performed within the

applicable base or extended coverage warranty period. If a failure is not found, this procedure is considered

preventive and warranty does not apply.

Normal warranty applies. See Table 1 for OWL VMRS codes and labor allowance information. Enter this service
