PURPOSE:
In some instances, the vehicle’s back-up camera may stop operating. This condition may be due to water
intrusion into the connectors of the back-up camera harness. To resolve this concern, this bulletin explains
how to install an improved back-up camera harness design which features water proof connectors that
will prevent water ingress.
When this condition presents itself, order kit P/N C161195000300. The kit contains both cables, as
shown below.

1. Remove the rear fascia by referring to the service
information (Fig. 1).

3. Open the trunk and pulll back the carpet (2) from
the right side of the trunk (Fig. 3).

5. Route the Fascia Overlay Harness (A) as shown in Figure 5.
6. Secure the Fascia Overlay Harness (A) to the harness bundle as follows:
• Use cable ties at mounting locations 1, 2, 3 and 4.
• Reuse the existing mounting hardware for the harness bundle at mounting positions 5, 6, and 7.

7. Disconnect the male and female back-up
camera connectors from each other (Fig. 7).

8. Slide an appropriately sized shrink tube (1) into
the end of the Fascia Overlay Harness (A) closest
to the camera, as shown in Figure 8.

10. Slide the shrink tube (1) over both connectors
and use a heat-gun to tightly shrink the tube
around the connectors (Fig. 10).

11. Connect the Fascia Overlay Harness connector
(A) to the Body Overlay Harness connector (B), as
shown in Figure 11.

12. Carefully route the Fascia Overlay Harness
(A) and the Body Overlay Harness (B) assembly
through the body grommet (2) and into the trunk
compartment, as shown in Figure 12.
