SITUATION:
Water ingress through the front left and/or rear left footwells.
CAUSE:
A manufacturing error during the robotic sealing process.
ACTION:
Follow the service instruction(s) below.

DESCRIPTION

NOTE:
Normal Warranty procedures apply.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION:

1.

Open the front left door.

2.



Remove the front left treadplate.

3.



Position the door aperture seal aside.

4.



Remove the trim panel.
1. Detach the 3 fastening clips.
2. Remove the trim panel.

Remove the hood release lever.
1. Remove the fixing.
2. Remove the hood release lever.

Remove the trim panel.
1. Remove the fixing.
2. Remove the trim panel.

Inspect for water ingress in the area shown highlighted in the illustration.
If there are any signs of water ingress present, continue to step
10.
If there are not any signs of water ingress present, continue to
step 8.

NOTE:
Do not use a High Pressure (HP) system.



Water test the area shown highlighted in the illustration.

Inspect for water ingress in the area shown highlighted in the illustration.
If there are any signs of water ingress present, continue to step
10.
If there are not any signs of water ingress present, do not
continue with this technical bulletin, as the customers concern
does not directly relate to the vehicle fault present. Reverse steps
1 - 6.

Remove any water ingress.
1. Be prepared to collect escaping water within the area shown highlighted
in the illustration.
2. Using an air blower, gently dry the affected area to remove any water
ingress.

NOTE:
'Front Wheel Arch Liner' is also known as 'Fender Splash Shield' within the
TOPIx workshop manual.

Remove the front left wheel arch liner, (see TOPIx workshop manual section 50102: Removal and Installation - Fender Splash Shield).

Remove the left fender, (see TOPIx workshop manual section 501-02: Removal and
Installation - Fender). Complete removal steps 2 - 12.

Clean the area shown highlighted in the illustration.

14.

Apply a bead of sealant in the area shown highlighted in the illustration.
Using a suitable tool or a damp finger, smooth the sealant, making
sure the sealant sufficiently adheres to the body panels.

Apply a bead of sealant in the area shown highlighted in the illustration.
Using a suitable tool or a damp finger, smooth the sealant, making
sure the sealant sufficiently adheres to the body panels.

Allow the sealant to cure for 1 hour.

NOTE:
Do not use a High Pressure (HP) system.

Water test the area shown highlighted in the illustration.

Inspect for water ingress in the area shown highlighted in the illustration.
If there are any signs of water ingress present, raise a Technical
Assistance (TA) who will assist you further, if required.
If there are not any signs of water ingress present, continue to
step 19.

Install the left fender, (see TOPIx workshop manual section 501-02: Removal and
Installation - Fender).

NOTE:
'Front Wheel Arch Liner' is also known as 'Fender Splash Shield' within the
TOPIx workshop manual.

Install the front left wheel arch liner, (see TOPIx workshop manual section 501-02:
Removal and Installation - Fender Splash Shield).

Reverse steps 2 - 6.

22.

Open the rear left door.

23.

Inspect the front left and rear left footwells for signs of previous water ingress
caused by this concern.
If there are any signs of water ingress present, any water
damaged components must be renewed as part of a separate
warranty claim.
If there are any signs of water ingress present, but there are not
any water damaged components, allow the water ingress to dry out
before releasing the vehicle.
If there are not any signs of water ingress present, close the doors
and release the vehicle.
