Summary
Owner Notification Letter - After the vehicle is parked for an extended period, the powertrain control module (PCM) begins an evaporative system leak check after meeting certain criteria. Under certain conditions, the PCM will not return to sleep mode, and may ultimately result in a dead battery. This is not an indication of a leak in the evaporative system.

Product Update: 2019 CR-V PGM-FI Evaporative Emission System Software
Dear FIRSTNAME LASTNAME:
What is the reason for this product update?
After the vehicle is parked for an extended period, the powertrain control module (PCM) begins an
evaporative system leak check after meeting certain criteria. Under certain conditions, the PCM will not
return to sleep mode, and may ultimately result in a dead battery. This is not an indication of a leak in the
evaporative system.
What should you do?
Contact any authorized Honda
dealer for an appointment to have your vehicle’s PCM updated with the
latest PGM-FI software for free. Additionally, if your vehicle required a jump start or will currently not
start, the battery will need to be tested, then recharged or replaced. This work will be done for free.
Please plan to leave your vehicle at the dealer for at least a day to allow them flexibility in scheduling.
California Owners Only:
The DMV will not renew your registration until this repair has been completed. After completing the repair
procedure, your dealer will give you a Vehicle Emission Recall - Proof of Correction certificate. Please
make sure your dealer completes and gives you the certificate. Keep the certificate for your records as
proof that the repair was completed. Submit the certificate to the DMV only if they request it.

Please forward a copy of this notice to the lessee.
What to do if you feel this notice is in error
Our records show that you are the current registered owner of a 2019 CR-V involved in this product
update. If this is not the case, or the name/address information is not correct, please fill out and return the
enclosed, postage-paid Information Change Card. We will then update our records.

¿Cuál es el motivo de esta actualización de producto?
Después de que el vehículo se ha estacionado por un periodo prolongado, el módulo de control del tren motriz
(PCM) comienza una verificación de fuga del sistema evaporativo después de cumplir con ciertos criterios. Bajo
ciertas condiciones, el PCM no regresará al modo de reposo, y puede a final de cuentas ocasionar una batería

El DMV no renovará su registro hasta que esta reparación haya sido completada. Después de completar este
procedimiento de reparación, su concesionario le entregará un certificado de Prueba de Corrección – Campaña
de seguridad de emisiones del vehículo (Vehicle Emissions Recall - Proof of Correction). Por favor asegúrese
