Description
Nylon Fuel Lines Too Short or Loose Connection

Introduction
One of the nylon fuel hoses, on certain model 579 and 567 vehicles built between 1/16/2017 and 2/28/2018, may be too
short. This could result in a cracked or loose low-pressure fuel fitting at the engine or fuel tank, which could potentially
allow air into the fuel system resulting in difficulty starting.
Resolution
FIX-AS-FAIL
If the owner of a vehicle included on the attached chassis list comes into your dealership with the condition described
above, use the procedure below to replace the fuel lines.
Warranty
Through Standard Warranty Peterbilt
will pay for parts at dealer net plus applicable mark-up and labor:
0.3 hours to replace the fuel line(s). File a long form claim.
File an additional claim for extraordinary circumstances.

Cut the cable-ties that secure the fuel line(s).
Disconnect the affected fuel line(s) from the fuel tank and the engine.
Remove the affected fuel line(s).
Install the new fuel line(s), and if noted on the chassis list, replace the fuel tank fitting.
Secure the fuel lines with cable-ties.

The engine may be hard to start or not start due to a cracked or loose, low pressure fuel fitting introducing air into the fuel system.
Chassis Affected
348 chassis (all U.S. and no Canada) T680 and T880 built from 01/09/2017 through 03/15/2018 equipped with Cummins X15 engine
and LH under-cab fuel tank with single draw.

If a customer comes into your dealership with the condition described above and the chassis is included on the attached chassis list,
use the procedure below to replace the fuel lines.
Warranty
