Work procedure
1. Detach left rear wheel and tire assembly.
For basic data, see AR40.10-P-1102A.
2. Remove bulkhead in left rear fender.
For basic data, see AR88.10-P-1400LW – model 205 and 253.
For basic data, see AR88.10-P-1400LWE – model 238.
3. Remove left and right side underfloor paneling.
For basic data, see AR61.30-P-1001LW – model 205 and 253.
For basic data, see AR61.30-P-1001LWE – model 238.
4. Remove center rear underfloor paneling.
For basic data, see AR61.30-P-1001LW.
5. Remove rear muffler.
Basic data AR49.10-P-7100LWB – model 205.
Basic data AR49.10-P-4952OLC – model 238.
Basic data AR49.10-P-4952RF – model 253.
6. Remove heat shield (A, Figure 1 and 2) of the rear muffler.

7. Remove rear reinforcement (B and C, Figure 3 and 4) on frame floor assembly.

9. Lower fuel tank.
Unfasten tensioning strap (I, Figure 8) on the left side!
Support fuel tank with suitable workshop means (J, Figure 8) and secure!

11. Remove left longitudinal member panel.

12. Correct seam seals on underbody.
Clean the affected areas thoroughly!
For the affected seam seals on model 205, see page 5 – 8 (Figure 10 – 19)!
For the affected seam seals on model 238, see page 9 – 13 (Figure 20 – 31)!
For the affected seam seals on model 253, see page 14 – 19 (Figure 32 – 40)!
Note the flash-off time of the new seam seals!
13. Assemble in reverse order.
14. Carry out wheel alignment check.
