Subject: Enabling the Radio Mute Feature for
Lane Departure Warning on New Cascadia
Vehicles
Models Affected: New Cascadia vehicles with Lane Departure
Warning enabled
Instructions
1.
Park the vehicle, apply the parking brakes, and shut down the engine. Chock the tires.
2.
Remove the yellow and red MV3 brake control knobs by turning counterclockwise.
3.
Remove the auxiliary switch panel, the Qualcomm display, the B-panel bracket, the ICU trim panels. Refer
to Secion 60.06 in the New Cascadia Workshop Manual for instructions.
4.
Remove the four screws that attach the ICU to the dash. See Fig. 1.

Tilt the ICU forward and unplug the both X1 and X2 connections. See Fig. 2. Place the ICU aside to prevent any damage.

Insert the radio removal tools into radio-assembly until they lock into place, then gently pull radio out of the
mounting bracket.

At the back side of the stereo, unplug the radio antenna cable, the satellite antenna plug, the black main
harness connection, and the blue microphone harness connections. See Fig. 3. Set aside the radio to prevent any damage.

Position the A66-16877-000 harness in the dash, beginning at the radio mounting location, with the yellow
connector facing outward for connection to the radio later in the procedure.
9.
Add a small tie-strap to secure the yellow connector to the other radio connectors.
10.
Continue to route and strap the wire along the other dash harnesses, taking the other side of the harness
to the area of the ICU housing.
11.
Remove the secondary pin lock from ICU connector X1.
12.
Place the terminal end of the jumper harness into the connector X1, cavity 7, ensuring that it is fully locked
in place. See Fig. 4. Install the secondary pin lock on the connector.

Install the auxiliary switch panel, the Qualcomm display, the B-panel bracket, and the ICU trim panels. Refer to Secion 60.06 in the New Cascadia Workshop Manual for instructions.

Plug the harness connectors in the back of the ICU, then position the ICU in the dash. Carefully install the
4 mounting screws to avoid overtightening and possibly damaging the ICU.
15.
Place the stereo near the mounting location, and plug all connectors in the back of the radio.
16.
Plug the new yellow connector to the left of the blue microphone wire on the back of the radio. Note the
space between the blue and yellow connectors when installed. See Fig. 5.

Slide the radio in the mounting location, and ensure that it locks in place.
18.
Install the yellow and red MV3 park brake knobs.
19.
Perform a test drive to verify proper operation.
19.1 In a safe location, test drive the vehicle with the stereo volume turned up.
19.2 Gradually position the vehicle near or over the white shoulder line.
19.3 Once lane departure warning issues an alert, the stereo speaker should mute, and the radio LCD display will indicate "MUTE."
