Cause:
1. Connection of airbag control unit N2/5 (Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control unit).
2. Jammed/pinched lines in area of seat box (see picture 01).
Remedy:
1. Detach 104-pin coupling (N2/5x1) from airbag control unit N2/5 (Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control unit)
and plug in again.
Delete fault memory using XENTRY Diagnosis and check if the fault has been cleared.
If the complaint is still present, i.e. the fault is set again, continue with point 2.
2. Check electric lines of squibs for seat belt tensioner R12/1 (squib for driver seat belt tensioner), R12/2 (squib for
front passenger seat belt tensioner) and/or R12/32 (squib for center front passenger seat belt tensioner) in area of seat box. If these are pinched or chafed, repair them and route without chaffing again (see picture 01).
Note: Airbags and other SRS components continue to operate as designed
Note: Observe WIS document AR54.18-D-0600A "Repair wiring harness for squibs on Supplement Restraint System
(SRS)".
Delete fault memory using XENTRY Diagnosis and check if the fault has been cleared.
If the problem is still present, please create a PTSS case.
