Summary
Some vehicles may experience the TCS/DSC indicator light and the TPMS warning light both ON with DTC C0051:62 stored in memory. DTC C0051:62 - The difference between the initial learned value of the steering angle (as calculated by each sensor) and the steering angle (as calculated by the steering angle sensor) while driving in a straight line, has exceeded its allowable tolerance (or threshold). NOTE: For vehicles equipped with the Smart City Brake System (SCBS), the master warning light also comes ON with the message "SCBS Inspection Required" in the display. The symptoms may occur when the following conditions are met: After starting the engine, the vehicle is driven backwards while the steering wheel is turned to the left or to the right or going forward over a bump while turning the steering wheel. The vehicle is then driven forward and begins accelerating while the steering wheel is still turned. To eliminate this concern, the DSC HU/CM software has been changed.

Some vehicles may experience the TCS/DSC indicator light and the TPMS warning light both ON with DTC

DTC C0051:62 - The difference between the initial learned value of the steering angle (as
calculated by each sensor) and the steering angle (as calculated by the steering angle sensor)
while driving in a straight line, has exceeded its allowable tolerance (or threshold).
NOTE: For vehicles equipped with the Smart City Brake System (SCBS), the master warning light also

The symptoms may occur when the following conditions are met:

To eliminate this concern, the DSC HU/CM software has been changed.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify the customer concern.
2. Verify that DTC C0051:62 is stored in memory.
3. Verify that all of the following statements are true:
The customer stated that the symptom occurred after the vehicle was driven backwards or forward
with the steering wheel turning right after the engine is started.
There are no EPS CM related DTCs stored in memory.
Even if an EPS CM related DTC is stored in memory, there is no failure found with the EPS CM.
4. If the statements above are all true, replace the DSC HU/CM with a modified part according to the
instructions on MGSS online:
(DSC HU/CM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITH CYLINDER
DEACTIVATION)]).
(DSC HU/CM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT
CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)]).
5. Verify the repair.
