Meritor has made an improvement to our Quadraulic brake system. The upgraded caliper
uses an improved crossover tube insert that seals directly to the caliper housing, which can
reduce the potential for incorrectly seated assemblies that can create crossover tube
leakage.
This improvement requires a change in the tool that is used to bleed the brakes. In place of
the 7/16” socket previously used, the new bleeder screw requires a 13mm socket. The
customer inlet port interface remains the same. This change does not impact fit, form, or
function of the brake.
The change will require a different caliper assembly part number. Replacement part numbers
will be issued for the new calipers with the updated crossover tube assembly. The part
numbers below are for the base caliper and do not include the suffix digits (ex: 001) that
indicate the type of friction included:
