Description
This fault code sets when the Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM)
detects that the DEF pump speed signal Above a calibrated range.

Use DiagnosticLink® to perform the SCR ADS Self-check and
recheck for an active fault code.
1. Connect DiagnosticLink ®.
2. Turn the ignition ON (key ON, engine OFF).
3. Check for multiple fault codes. Are there any low battery voltage, DEF-related fault codes present?
a. Yes; diagnose the other fault codes first.
b. No; Go to step 4.
4. Turn the ignition OFF.
5. Disconnect and inspect the DEF pump harness electrical connector. Refer to section "Electrical Connector Inspection".
Is there corrosion, damage, bent or spread pins?

Disconnect and inspect the ACM 120-pin connector. Refer to section "Electrical Connector Inspection". Is there
corrosion, damage, bent or spread pins?
a. Yes; Refer to section "Electrical Connector Repair" and repair as necessary.
b. No; Go to step 7.
Measure resistance between pin 1 of the DEF pump connector harness side and pin 95 of the ACM 120-pin electrical
connector harness side. Is resistance less than five ohms?
a. Yes; Go to step 8.
b. No; repair the circuit between pin 1 of the DEF pump connector harness side and pin 95 of the ACM 120-pin
electrical connector harness side.
Measure resistance between pin 1 of the DEF pump connector harness side and battery ground. Is resistance greater
than 10K ohms?
a. Yes; Go to step 9.
b. No; repair short in wire between DEF pump connector pin 1 and chassis ground. Verify repair.
Measure the resistance between pin 1 and pin 2 of the DEF pump electrical connector harness side. Is the resistance
greater than 10K ohms?
a. Yes; Go to step 10.
b. No; repair the short between pin 1 RPM pump feedback and pin 2 Pump voltage supply circuits.
Measure the resistance between pin 1 and pin 3 of DEF pump electrical connector harness side. Is the resistance
greater than 10K ohms?
a. Yes; Go to step 11.
b. No; repair the short between pin 1 RPM pump feedback and pin 3 Pump RPM Control circuits.
Measure the resistance between pin 1 and pin 4 of the DEF pump electrical connector harness side. Is the resistance
greater than 10K ohms?
a. Yes; reconnect the DEF pump electrical connector. Go to step 12.
b. No; repair the short between pin 1 RPM pump feedback and pin 4 Pump Ground circuits.
Program and install a test ACM.
Turn the ignition ON (key ON, engine OFF).
Recheck the fault codes. Is fault code SPN 4374/FMI 3 still active?
a. Yes; replace the DEF Pump. Refer to section "Removal of the Diesel Exhaust Fluid Pump Module". Verify
repairs.
b. No; program and install a new ACM.
For 1-BOX™ applications, Refer to section "Removal of the 1-BOX™ Aftertreatment Control Module". Verify
repair.

greater than 10K ohms?
a. Yes; reconnect the DEF pump electrical connector. Go to step 12.
b. No; repair the short between pin 1 RPM pump feedback and pin 4 Pump Ground circuits.
Program and install a test ACM.
Turn the ignition ON (key ON, engine OFF).
Recheck the fault codes. Is fault code SPN 4374/FMI 4 still active?
a. Yes; replace the DEF Pump. Refer to section "Removal of the Diesel Exhaust Fluid Pump Module". Verify
repairs.
b. No; program and install a new ACM.
For 1-BOX™ applications, Refer to section "Removal of the 1-BOX™ Aftertreatment Control Module". Verify
repair.
