Availability of Optional Rubber, Laminated, & Polyurethane
Dock Bumpers for VS2RA, VS2DX, VS1RA, and VS1DC Models
** This Issuance replaces SBL3662 (issued on 04/19/2019) in its entirety **


Any dock bumper (rubber, polyurethane, laminated, stainless steel, etc…)
equal to, or greater than 1” proud of the buckplate light protector bar (aka
pretzel) MAY REDUCE TRAILER DOCK LOCK COMPATIBILITY.



ALL in-house VS2RA, VS1RA, VS2DX, and VS1DC model trailer orders that
included 2” proud rubber dock bumpers (base specification or optional) that
were received prior to 04/19/2019 and scheduled for production on or after
04/19/2019 (approx.) WILL be built with 1/2" proud rubber dock bumpers.



UTM HAS CONVERTED ALL in-house VS2RA, VS1RA, VS2DX, and VS1DC model
trailer orders scheduled to be produced on or after 04/19/2019
(approximately) with a TPO that finalized on or after 04/24/2019 specifying
optional 1-1/2” proud Atro polyurethane dock bumpers to 5/8” proud
polyurethane dock bumpers (with embedded studs).




All other optional bumpers specified on orders remain unchanged.
Consult the Dock Lock “Reach” chart below to determine the dock bumper’s
impact on dock lock “Reach”.
For quotation of optional rubber, polyurethane, and laminated dock bumpers
that are currently available please see the “Dock Bumper Availability chart” below.



*Trailers produced with a 4” dock bumper horizontal (pre-02/01/2019 base specification) with 2” proud dock
bumpers resulted in a 6” dock lock “Reach”. Additionally, any other items (i.e. lift gates, ramp carriers, steps,
etc… ) which protrude beyond the rearmost edge of the horizontal bumper MAY reduce your Dock Lock “REACH”.
