SUBJECT:
Install Intake Air Temperature Sensor Jumper Harness
OVERVIEW:
The wiring at the connector of the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor may be
compromised due to wire strain. This bulletin involves adding a jumper harness on the IAT
sensor to reduce this strain.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries:
United States and Canada only.
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after December 09, 2014 (MDH
1209XX) and on or before May 12, 2015 (MDH 0512XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may not experience any symptom or condition for this service action. Upon
further inspection, the technician may find P0113 Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit
High. Installing the jumper harness will help prevent any IAT issues from occurring.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in
TechCONNECT, verify all engine systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or
symptom conditions are present, record the issues on the repair order and repair as
necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Were any IAT DTCs found?
a. Yes >>> Perform normal diagnostics before performing this repair procedure.
b. No >>> Proceed to step Step #2.
NOTE: Installing the jumper will not correct any DTCs. If any IAT DTCs are found,
visually inspect the wires at the IAT connector.
2. Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the engine cover.

4. Disconnect the IAT and lower connectors, see (Fig. 2).

5. Reposition both connectors so that the wires are under the black tube, see (Fig. 3).

6. Reconnect the lower connector.

7. Position the opening of the IAT connector away from the engine, see (Fig. 4).

8. Connect one end of the jumper harness to the old IAT connector and then the other
end to the IAT sensor.
9. Fasten the jumper harness to the main harness, as shown in (Fig. 5).

10. Connect the negative battery cable.
11. Clear any DTCs that may have been set in any module due this repair procedure.
