2013 Quick Reference Specification Books
All Service Departments will be receiving 2013 Quick Reference Specification Books for each
platform beginning in a few weeks and continuing through the first quarter of 2013. This book is
created by the Service Information Team to provide you with easy access to a vast library of
vehicle information, including detailed diagrams, photographs, and illustrations. The Books
cover general information, vehicle identification, sales codes, vehicle lifting, specifications, and
diagnostic trouble code (DTC) charts. Look for the Quick Reference Specification Books to start
showing up soon.

Feedback Corner
The Quality Rewards program is driven by you! So, keep those feedbacks coming. You can earn

This week’s feedback is from Erik regarding a 2009 Routan Repair Manual. He states:

“Instructions for tightening cylinder head bolts state: ‘Tighten the bolts and additional 90
degree turn.’ The word ‘and’ is misleading, which could be interpreted as tightening the bolts
AND turning them 90 degrees. Please change word ‘and’ to ‘an’ to prevent confusion."

This feedback was reviewed by the Service Information Team and was fixed to more clearly
indicate the tightening specification. Erik included his full name and email address with the
feedback and will be receiving Generation VW Bucks for helping improve the quality of the
repair information.

If seat belt light remains on only when passenger seat is occupied with seat belt latched,
check to see if airbag module has been replaced with color code 095. Module with color
code 095 will have coding 14645 or 00 00 39 35. If airbag module has been replaced
with color code 095, passenger seat belt latch must also be replaced with updated part
number 5C6 857 756 K YLZ.
