ElsaPro Compatibility Reminder


ElsaPro (like ElsaWeb) is currently designed to work in Internet Explorer (IE) 8.



Unofficially, ElsaPro will also work in IE 9 and IE 10 with compatibility mode turned on.

Wiring Diagrams and Component Locations
Due to the overwhelming amount of positive feedback we received from the dealers who
participated in the Jetta i-Wire pilot, the Service Information team is committed to integrating all
current and future VW models into the i-Wire application.

The content migration to i-Wire is already underway, and you can expect to see all of the current
VW models in i-Wire during the 1st quarter of 2014.

From mid–2007 through 2011, the New Beetle was produced without the pollen
filter.
In its place is a black screen that will only need to be cleaned periodically at service
intervals.
20-13-04TT - MIL ON with DTCs P2400, P2404

For concerns of MIL ON and P2400/P2404. This can be caused by the change
over valve on the water pump. The water pump has a vacuum controlled servo to
control the flow of coolant. If the diaphragm fails, coolant can get into the vacuum
supply line for the LDP pump. Vacuum test the port on the water pump. If it will not
hold vacuum, replace the water pump and the vacuum supply line as necessary
and retest operation.

If a customer comments that the key cannot be removed from the ignition when the
transmission is in PARK or that the PRND12 is not reading correctly in the MFI, DO
NOT replace the ignition switch, lock cylinder, or lock housing assembly. Instead,
be sure the Ignition lock solenoid is working properly and/or check that the N376
(called the "catch"), is connected to the lock housing. In some cases you may get a
fault code 00194 009 Ignition key removal from lock open circuit/ short to earth.
Use MVB 5 in address word 16-Steering Column Electronics for an aid in
diagnosis. Please be certain to use the VIN in ETKA to obtain the latest part
number(s) available.

57-13-05TT - Auto Unlock Function

On the vehicles listed above, the auto unlock feature will only unlock the door(s)
that were unlocked when the vehicle was last entered. For example, if the vehicle is
set to unlock only the driver’s door on first press of the unlock button on the keyless
entry remote (or when using the door handle on KESSY equipped vehicles) and only
the driver’s door is unlocked during entry, only the driver’s door will unlock with the
auto unlock feature when placed into park or the key is removed from the ignition.
This is normal operation, normal characteristic and no diagnosis or repair should
be attempted for this condition.

When diagnosing a low battery or no charging system concern, start by inspecting
the SA1 200 amp fuse in the SA fuse block. DO NOT replace the generator.
Perform a voltage drop test between threaded connections 508 and SA1 as shown
in Figure 1. If the voltage drop is above .02V, disconnect the battery and remove
the cables at the 508 connection and the SA1 connection. Check for continuity of
the threaded plate connection between 508 and SA1. If fuse SA1 is found to have
an open circuit, replace the fuse and check the threaded connections closely.
