serviced using Vehicle Self-Diagnosis,
it is recommended to use Guided Fault
Finding whenever possible.
Guided Fault Finding has complete
step-by-step plans on the procedures for
ECM replacement, cluster replacement
and key adaptation.
The VAS 5052 does not contain Guided
Fault Finding. Vehicle Self-Diagnosis
must be used.

Personal Identification Number (PIN) from the Warranty Information Network (WIN).

The VIN and Immobilizer Identification Number are used to obtain a 7-digit
Personal Identification Number (PIN) from the Warranty Information Network (WIN).
This 7-digit PIN unlocks both the ECM and Instrument Cluster and allows the parts
to be serviced.
To find the VIN and Immobilizer Identification Numbers in Vehicle Self-Diagnosis:
+ Plug the scan tool into the vehicle.
+ Turn ignition ON.
