Elsa2Go
We are pleased to announce the introduction of Elsa2Go, a lite version of Service Information
for the iPad. Elsa2Go provides a portable solution for our Service Information and also allows
users to search across platforms. To register for an ID follow the link:

As this is a new application, we welcome comments/critique on anything: content presentation,

The A/C compressor will shut off too early under very light acceleration. This
condition may lead to insufficient cooling efficiency in hot weather climates.
Note: The condition as described does not compromise operator visibility. DO
NOT diagnose or replace components due to A/C Performance BEFORE

Four Wheel Alignment and Vehicle Drift-Pull Overview
This Technical Bulletin provides an overview for performing vehicle four Wheel
Alignment, and information on improving vehicle drift/pull using selective tire
placement. The information provided is based on the Hunter alignment equipment,
Hunter GSP9700 with StraightTrak® (VAS 6230x ) and John Bean RFV2000 with
OptiLine (VAS 6311A) diagnostic balancer. The alignment information provided in
this bulletin is not limited to the Hunter alignment equipment, and still applies with
the use of other Volkswagen approved alignment equipment. The diagnostic
procedure for selective tire placement, to improve vehicle drift/pull, will require the
use of one of the diagnostic balancers previously mentioned.
Production Solution: Extensive analysis was conducted by Volkswagen for concerns
of vehicle drift/pull and it has been determined that this condition is NOT caused by
any production issues with the vehicle’s steering or suspension systems. The main
contributors for these concerns are tire pull and road surface tilt (road crown). Tire
pull is a natural condition of radial tire construction and road surfaces are tilted for
water drainage. The intent of the information provided in this bulletin is to optimize

the straight ahead tracking of the vehicle for customer satisfaction.

19-13-02TT - Coolant Leak or Repeat Coolant Leak from the Water Pump Area

Inspect the water pump for signs of contact with engine oil. Engine oil may cause
the water pump gasket to swell, which may lead to a coolant leak. If water pump
replacement is necessary, ensure that any engine oil is thoroughly cleaned off, prior
to water pump installation. Please note that when replacing the water pump or
opening the cooling system, there is a special bleed procedure that has to be
performed. Vacuum bleed the cooling system for 10 minutes. Start the engine and
let idle until the thermostat opens and the cooling fan runs, before driving vehicle or
raising engine RPM.

Use of aftermarket air filters such as cotton bed steel mesh or cone style, can cause
the MAF sensor to not read accurately, affecting vehicle performance and critical
monitoring functions for the diesel particulate filter. This can also result in
premature DPF failure. Only use factory air filters. The use of aftermarket air filters
is not supported as the system was designed and calibrated to work with factory air
filters.
