Navistar Required 5th Gen Transmission Control Module (TCM) Reprogram
MODELS AFFECTED:
2500PTS Transmissions in IC buses, CE Series with Cummins ISB engines
Complaint:
Early shift and perceived low power/poor performance.
Navistar released Service Bulletin MIN14107 on April 4, 2014 to address a low power/poor performance concern.
The bulletin requires reprogramming the TCM with a new TCM Assembly P/N. A list of the vehicles and the new
TCM Assembly Part Numbers can be found in Table 1.
Steps Required for Payment:
Navistar has instructed authorized Allison Transmission Distributors to bill the local International Dealer for time
and material required to reprogram the TCM. Only vehicles listed in Table 1 require reprogramming.
If a customer contacts an Allison Distributor or Dealer directly, the customer should be instructed to contact their
local International dealer so that arrangement for payment can be made. Payment for this service will not be
covered by Allison Transmission warranty.
Navistar requires their claims be submitted by April 4, 2015 or within the normal warranty period for the vehicle, if
after April 4, 2015.
NOTE: The issue outlined in this document is not an Allison Transmission, Inc. defect in material or
workmanship.
