Title : LT Chrome Door Mirror Glare
Applies To : LTs built prior to Feb 2019 with chrome door mirrors . Going forward, all chrome
mirrors will have a permanently molded-in anti-glare surface directly on the mirror housing. This
includes replacement parts from the PDCs. These new mirror heads will not need the decal.

DESCRIPTION
This document will guide the user through the process of addressing headlight glares coming from the chrome door mirror on
certain LT truck configurations with chrome door mirrors. Trucks built with chrome mirror housings in February 2019 will have a
molded in anti-glare surface directly on the mirror housing. Anti-glare decals will not be needed for these new housings.
SYMPTOM(s)
Driver experiences light reflection/glare off of the inner surfaces of the door mirror housings reflecting from headlights of
oncoming traffic.
SPECIAL NOTE: All chrome mirror housings manufactured as of Feb 2109 will have the molded-in "Anti-Glare" surface directly
on the mirror housing. The manufacturing tools have been permanently changed to add the anti-glare feature directly to the
housing and will no longer need a decal. Mirror housings without the anti-glare surface have been discontinued and are
no longer available.

DIAGNOSTIC STEP(s)
Verify customer complaint of headlight glare coming from door mirror, see Figure 1. If confirmed, follow instructions under the
'Repair Section' below.

REPAIR STEP(s)
Step 1: Open a Technical Services Case File. If multiple VINS are affected, contact your local CSE (Customer Service
Engineer)
Step 2: Obtain anti-glare decals from PDC.

Figure 2: Decal Orientation
Be sure to review Figure 2 above to properly orientate the decals to correct mirror prior to
installation as the actual decals received will not be marked as shown in Figure 2. Once
you place the decal on the mirror it will be difficult to remove for adjustment.
Step 3: Begin with driver side mirror shell. Clean off chrome shell with Windex® or soap and water to remove all dirt, debris, and
bug guts. Let mirror housing surface completely dry before proceeding to next step.
Step 4: See Figure 3 for guidance of decal installation. Begin applying decal at the Rear Shell Edge next to mirror near the
bottom corner of the chrome shell. Guide the placement of the decal to the top of the mirror shell.
Note: Begin at approximately 15mm (0.6") from the bottom of the chrome shell for best fit of decal.

Step 5: Rub out any bubbles to ensure decal is completely adhered to mirror shell surface.
Step 6: Repeat Steps 3-5 for passenger side mirror shell. See Figure 4 for completed installation.
